WASD to move around the lab. Mouse does the aiming and shooting. Space for dodge or reload depending on the build. Took me a solid two minutes to realize the mouse wheel swaps guns, which would've saved me an early reload panic.

What is Zombie Lab Escape?

You spawn inside a locked-down research facility. A virus got out, the staff turned, and the doors sealed shut. Your job is to blast through infected workers, grab whatever ammo and meds you can carry, and find a way out before the whole place is overrun. It's a top-down 3D shooter with arena-style rooms that get tighter as you push deeper. If you like wave survival with permadeath pressure, you'll probably get sucked in. It's not built for people who want a chill stroll or a story though. There's no dialogue, no cutscenes, just shoot or get chewed on. Best played in short bursts unless you've got time to burn.

How to Play Zombie Lab Escape

Most runs last 8 to 15 minutes if you die early, longer if you find a decent weapon. You'll start with a pistol, clear the first room of zombies, then pick a door that leads to the next corridor. Each room throws more enemies at you and the layout changes between attempts. Don't burn your medkits on a graze. Wait until you're under half health or the next room looks stacked. Early mistake I made: I kept grabbing every gun on the floor and ran out of ammo in two rooms. Stick with two weapons max until you know what's coming.

Zombie Lab Escape Key Features

Top-down 3D view that keeps the action readable on any screen size.
Procedurally arranged rooms mean layouts shift every run.
Six weapon types from pistols to shotguns with real recoil.
Wave counts climb past 20, with boss-tier infected near the end.
Browser-only play, loads in under 10 seconds on most connections.

Why Choose Zombie Lab Escape

It's a browser zombie shooter that doesn't feel like a watered-down mobile port. The WASD + mouse setup feels right at home if you've played anything like Dead Nation or a top-down Hotline Miami. Compared to most free "zombie survival" games floating around, this one actually punishes you for sloppy aim. Only downside is no save between runs, so a bad death means starting over fresh.

Zombie Lab Escape Pro Tips

1Don't skip the starter room tutorial markers - they unlock the mini-map later.
2Kite zombies into chokepoints instead of running through open labs.
3Save at least 2 medkits before you push past room 10.
4Shotguns shred crowds but eat ammo in 4 shots - don't spam them.
5Corner-camp is fine early, but enemies flank hard after wave 5.
